Field Trips!

I have written about field trips in the past, and why I love field trips. When COVID-19 quarantine happened in March of 2020, I had to cancel several field trips. It's been a year! Thankfully, the situation with COVID-19 is improving and our world is beginning to return to normal. That means field trips for De Beau Microschool.

We have had two field trips since February, and will have another one soon. Our first adventure was to The Tupper Museum in Jennings, Louisiana. Our adventure was the first field that has been to The Tupper Museum since the quarantine. The staff were please to have our school tour the museum.

In March, De Beau Microschool traveled to Natchitoches, Louisiana to tour Fort St. Jean Baptiste State Historic Site. We watched a movie at the beginning of the tour that had actors tell the story of the first few people that settled in the fort. We learned about St. Denis and his relationship with local Native Americans. After the movie, we toured the welcome center before touring the fort.

We are now preparing for a field trip in April. I cannot wait for our next adventure! You can follow all of our adventures and see photos on our Facebook page. Follow along for fun times!
