Innovation Plan Outline: Updated 5-2019

Brief Summary of Innovation Plan:

Students will create a reflective eportfolio.

Academic Goals:

Teach students to create a reflective eportfolio for document storage and to show progression of learning.

Target Student Group:

Current sixth/seventh grade students.

The eportfolio portion of the plan will launch when the student group enters eighth grade, which is the first year that the students can receive academic credit toward high school graduation.

Preparation:

*Platforms:

Online Learning Management System: Schoology

Website/eportfolio sites: Wix, WordPress, Weebly, Ning, etc.

Round Table Discussions: Teacher and students will gather for round table

discussions regarding academic topics, eportfolio development, and field

trip planning.

*Devices:

Students will use their personal computer or laptop

*Grading:

Students will be graded for participation only for the eportfolio development and

participation in the round table discussions.

Students will be graded on individual assignments submitted through Schoology.

Selected assignments and reflections will be posted on the student's eportfolio.

Implementation Timeline:

*Teacher (me) will continue to learn about various platforms for eportfolio

development. Teacher will continue to develop her personal academic

eportfolio.

*September 2018: Students will begin to submit assignments through Schoology.

*November 2018: Students will begin to receive direct instruction on reflective

thinking and writing.

*November 2019: Prepare information for parents and students informational

meeting.

*December 2019: Host informational meeting for parents and students.

*January 2020: Launch

Continuous Improvement:

Throughout the process, the teacher and students will have round table discussions. Parents will be invited to quarterly round table discussions. The round table discussions will be a time to discuss and reflect. Changes will be made as needed.
